Mountain Quest Inn Rooms

We had a family trip and it was pleasure to spend the night here. Animals, views and such a nice interior of the building itself. Huge library, playroom and such a lovely breakfast!

Peaceful, relaxing

The breakfast was good and the location was beautiful.

Such a cozy spot! I wish we could have stayed longer. Hopefully, we'll return in the summer to enjoy hiking during the day and spending evenings in the amazing library. Thank you for fresh breakfast croissants.

The property is a treasure with and a tremendous library and story. The staff was amazing and went out of their way to accommodate guests and address questions. The property is extremely quiet and was an excellent place to relax.

Such a special getaway location, the rooms' decors are so fun, there is an amazing library, a game room, an observatory, home cooked breakfast, and beautiful views of the mountains! There is no wifi but this is something I liked as it allowed me to unplug and have the therapeutic experience I was needing. A 40 minutes drive to Snowshoe at a much more affordable price. An overall excellent experience!

The innkeeper was awesome, super accommodating and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.

The breakfast was pretty standard for a hotel in this price range, but I like that they switched up the hot option the two days that we stayed! The drive to Snowshoe, which was the main reason for our stay; was not bad at all! It was about 35 minutes to get to the parking lot at the top of the mountain. The amenities at MQI are awesome, although there is no Wi-Fi or cell service, my fianc and I enjoyed the time to unplug and destress, which is exactly what we needed at the time. They have a library room full of books and DVDs (DVD players are in the rooms), along with tours of the properties and animals that are very friendly. Zee Zee the cat is our favorite! The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. If youre an astronomy fan the green bank telescope is a short drive north.

Very quiet and beautiful place, highly recommended. Alexandra makes you feel like at home, always looking for the best way to make you feel comfortable. Big library, movies and games for the kids.

The breakfast could have been a little more opulent since we were charged extra for the kids. But, it was very tasty with what they had.

The place was beautiful, especially the 2 story library. There was a great collection of DVDs and game room to enjoy. The area is peaceful and we enjoyed the animals. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, I really liked the heated massage chair!

Facility was excellent and interesting.

The library was stunning!! Loved the video selections in the game room! Wonderful views from the observation room! What a lovely place. Deer, horses, donkeys, wildlife all amazing.

The breakfast was excellent and conveniently located a short drive from the Inn.

We expected a room at a peaceful country inn and found ourselves at an amazing retreat center. With nobody else staying there that night, our family had the full access to the amazing library with not only thousands of books and hundreds of dvds but musical instruments, toys, a puppet theatre, pool table, sky observation room, and more, in addition to the lovely miniature horses and donkeys:) Our room was uniquely and creatively decorated and very clean. The surroundings were gorgeous and peaceful.

Beautiful room and common areas. Lots of interesting things in the library. It was quiet. Amazing scenery outside, like a painting. Great breakfast made to each ones order.

Beautiful peaceful scenery. Themed rooms. Ours was The Hanger all about planes. 2 story Library. Pool table. Big TV with couches and a huge DVD selection. Nice to just walk around.

Everything about the location, staff, facilities, breakfast in a mountain location is above expectation.

Library, games and the environment

So peaceful and relaxing. For me it was heaven and really wish we could have stayed longer. Room was very tastefully decorated, beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. At night we watched the fireflies dancing around and listened to the frogs saying hello. The next morning we sat out on the front porch and listened to nothing but birds singing and the occasional donkey. "Hee-Haw. We all went for the complimentary breakfast at Dean's Den about a mile down the road. Cute small diner and very nice people. I was surprised they offered a full breakfast of your choice and not just some generic, "this is all you get for the free breakfast". We all left full and smiling. If you are someone who can't live without Facebook or Google, this isn't the place for you! Remember, it is basically a farm so don't complain if you have leaf hoppers all over your car in the morning.

Lovely landscape, quiet, interesting history, one of few places to stay near the steam train ride in Cass.
